We all love to go off somewhere or other during summer vacations. It's often a hassle, though, as it's not just about deciding a destination. Travel involves much planning: getting leave, booking tickets, deciding where to stay, making reservations, ensuring the hotel is kid-friendly, and most importantly, making sure the food is good. We understand it's just too much. So, let THE MAN help you plan your next vacay. What better place than Mussoorie to clear your head with that much-needed break.
Mussoorie is great for those keen to explore nature and Jaypee Residency Manor is surrounded with it, offering luxury in relaxed and scenic surroundings.
Strategically located at a height of approximately 7000 feet, the hotel offers spectacular views, uber luxury, and an un-interrupted encounter with nature combined with exceptional service.
The hotel has paid special attention to the restaurant's decor and interiors. Spacious air-conditioned rooms face the common terrace overlooking the mountains. Furniture and artefacts have been handpicked from select artisans from around the globe. Decoratives like light, vases, jars, cutlery are specially designed to suit the ambience of the restaurant. The crockery and artware at Regency have been procured from Khurja artisans.
Dining options include The Regency, a global cuisine restaurant, Cafe Manor that offers the best pizzas and Lebanese food in Mussoorie, and Marshal's Lounge that has a sizeable drinks menu. Having a meal on the huge terrace offers a panoramic view of the Himalayas.
Local Garhwali cuisine, the restaurant's specialty, is highly recommended. Farm-to-table ensures the produce is fresh and local. Chefs use organic herbs and spices. "We serve everything that is healthy for the body and we keep ourselves away from adding artificial ingredients to food," Chef Avtar, one of the head chefs at Regency said.
"We collaborate with local farmers and vendors to get fresh vegetables, honey and grains. It makes the taste better. We keep the Garhwali thali basic without compromising with the flavours. The saag is made from leaves of 'bicchoo ghaas' (scorpion grass)."
The hotel organises special dinners for couples. "We have a separate section on the terrace where we organise special dinners for honeymooning couples. We make sure that we cater to the needs of all our guests," Anil Sharma, the Vice President said. "We also organise breakfast from a live kitchen near the waterfall."
It's easy to while away the evening at Marshal's Lounge and enjoy their signature drinks like Rum grog and hot apple cider. Try the thin-crust wood-fired pizza at Cafe Manor. The burritos and parmesan-crusted chicken are not to be missed.
Jaypee Residency Manor has a Leisure Mall for the little ones where you, too, can try your hand at bowling, billiards and video games. When on holiday, a spa is often a part of what you do. Try one or multiple treatments from the extensive menu at Sansha Spa. It offers a range of services to keep you healthy and glowing.
