It's called The Residence for a reason. It's a three room set: a living room, a bedroom and a bathroom. What's so great about that you might think. Well, this little studio apartment is on Etihad Airways. So if you're on a long haul flight, you might want to consider this one at a cost of AED 63,550 (Rs 12.40 lakh one way) from AUH to NYC.
The complimentary hamper includes among other goodies, a headset, a set of pyjamas and a welcome note personally signed by the pilot. The living area even has a little hallway. The seats, two full sized ones, are humongous and are a mix between a recliner and a lounge. There's a fully stocked mini bar and refrigerator. After you've grabbed a can of your favourite beverage you can continue to the bedroom. The bed here is a real one, not a seat that reclines and flattens to a bed, it's actually the same as you might have in your own home on the ground. At 30,000ft, this is a stunner and comes with a mirror on the wall on top of the head rest. There's a huge TV for in-flight entertainment.

The bathroom is another delight. It's clean, it's private and you have enough space to manoeuvre before and after you do your business. There are branded toiletries and enough hot water for a good 10-minute shower.
The meal is a linen and silver service affair with an a la carte multi course menu prepared by an in-flight chef, and even has sorbets for palate cleansers between the courses.
And then there's the turn-down service to get you ready for a comfy night on board. That's the Butler service on The Etihad Residence bringing a spot of starred hospitality in the skies.
The breathless awe is simply because this is the most expensive airline ticket you can get today and the service and amenities they offer on Etihad Airways is breathtaking in its expanse. Flying is often a matter of making the best of cramped seating if you are in cattle class and more leg room and reclining seats if in first class. This is an altogether more superior way to travel on an A380 with Etihad Airways pulling out at all the stops to provide a superlative flying experience.
